Luso-Galician Forum – creativity and co-production
25th of November | Porto/Post/Doc, Porto
As a result of a partnership with the Portugal Film Commission and Axencia Galega das Industrias Culturais of Xunta de Galicia, the 2024 edition of Porto/Post/Doc will host the Luso-Galician Forum – creativity and co-production. This event, taking place on 25 November as part of the festival’s industry activities, aims to promote collaboration between production companies from Portugal and Galicia, strengthening established ties while welcoming new industry agents who are renewing the business and creative fabric of these two territories.
Registrations are now open for various profiles of companies working with audiovisual or cinematographic projects, as well as all genres and formats, ensuring participant diversity and event productivity.
During this day, individual meetings between participants (pre-scheduled by the organisation) and the presentation of the current panorama of co-productions between Galicia and Portugal will take place, along with other informal networking moments.

Shooting Locations Marketplace
15-16 October | Valladolid, Spain
The Portugal Film Commission will participate on the Shooting Locations Marketplace’s fourth edition, which takes place between 15 and 16 of October at the Valladolid Trade Exhibition Centre.
The event will gather location scouts, location managers, executive producers and international film commissions, presenting itself as a commercial platform for shooting locations and production companies.
The Shooting Locations Marketplace is organized by Feria de Valladolid and the Spain Film Commission.
Noronha2B – Film Commission Forum
19-23 August | Fernando de Noronha, Brazil
Noronha2B – Film Commission Forum is a strategic event for the promotion of Brazilian audiovisual in line with the tourism sector, with a focus on attracting productions to the territory and promoting Brazilian audiovisual.
The event will feature the participation of Ana Marques, executive director of the Portugal Film Commission.
Conecta FICTION & ENTERTAINMENT
The Portugal Film Commission will be at Conecta FICTION & ENTERTAINMENT, between the 18th and 21st of June, in the Spanish city of Toledo.
Within the top 10 international tv markets in the audiovisual industry, the Conecta FICTION & ENTERTAINMENT focuses on the creation, development, production, financing, broadcasting, marketing and commercialization of television content.
TorinoFilmLab Industry Day
The TorinoFilmLab Industry Day will take place on 18 June, at the Batalha Centro de Cinema in Porto.
This event, open to all industry professionals, will feature a diverse programme:

- 17h00 | Masterclass with Tomasz Wasilewski, Polish director and screenwriter

Annecy International Animation Film Market (Mifa)
The Portugal Film Commission, together with the Portuguese Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual (ICA), will be at the Annecy International Animation Film Market (Mifa), taking place from 11 to 14 June in Annecy, France.
MIFA is the meeting point for the global animation industry. This participation aims to showcase Portugal and Portuguese animation cinema, in an edition where Portugal will be the featured country. The special programme dedicated to Portuguese animation includes film screenings, pitches, talks, masterclasses, among many other activities.
FICAS – International Environmental and Sustainability Film Festival
FICAS talks | “Audiovisual production and sustainability”
“Audiovisual production and sustainability” is the theme for the talk that will take place as part of FICAS – International Environmental and Sustainability Film Festival on 7 June, at 16h00, at Galeria Tratuário, in Funchal.
The session will feature Ana Marques, executive director of the Portugal Film Commission, Natércia Xavier, regional director of Culture, and João Santos, from Episódio Proeza Films.
Tourism and film, a differential for Portugal
The session “Tourism and film, a differential for Portugal” takes place on May 28, at 16h30, in CIBT – Centro de Incubação de Base Tecnológica do Turismo (Estoril).
Screen tourism and the role of digital in the efficiency of the productions are the topics that will be covered in a conversation between Ana Marques, executive director of the Portugal Film Commission, Dörte Schneider Garcia, president of the Association of Green Consultants Portugal – Repensar, and Joana Domingues, executive producer at Caracol Studios and participant of the ACE Mentoring Programme.
The session is organized by NEST – Centro de Inovação do Turismo and the Portugal Film Commission, being part of the programme NIT – NEST INNOVATION TALKS.
Marché du Film – Festival de Cannes
The Portugal Film Commission will participate in the Marché du Film – Festival de Cannes, that takes place between the 14th and 22nd of May.
During these days, the Portugal Film Commission and the Portuguese Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual (ICA) present themselves at the stand Riviera D3.
The 77th edition of the Festival de Cannes – International film festival, which takes place between the 14th and 25th of May, will feature eight Portuguese films.
Atlas Festival 2024
Animation / Gaming / VFX
The Atlas Festival takes place on May 10, at Etic, in Lisbon, organized by the creative studio Dialogue.
The event features the participation of professionals from the sector who will share experiences and inspire emerging talents in this area.
This year, four workshops are also part of the Festival. Just like the Festival, the participation is free of charge.
The Portugal Film Commission is an institutional partner of Atlas Festival 2024.

Clarification session
Environmental sustainability, Cash Rebate and Cash Refund
The decrees that regulate the Pic Portugal – Cash Rebate Incentive and the Pic Portugal – Cash Refund Incentive include environmental sustainability criteria.
Through this session open to the industry, the Portugal Film Commission and the Associação de Green Consultants Portugal – Repensar intend to clarify doubts related to these criteria which, for the first time in Portugal, may value the projects that apply for these incentives.
The session takes place online on April 12, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Participation requires prior registration via email rethink@greenconsultants.pt The session link will be sent in response to the registration.

Sustainability in Film and Audiovisual Productions
Portugal Film Commission, Filmaporto — film commission and Associação Green Consultants de Portugal promote an event about Sustainability in Film and Audiovisual Productions on September 24, Sunday, at 2:15 pm in Batalha Centro de Cinema, Porto.
In 2023 Portugal celebrates, for the first time, the National Sustainability Day. In this frame, we invite film and audiovisual professionals to reflect on the path towards more ecologically responsible productions.
The program includes two moments leaded by Associação Green Consultants de Portugal with the participation of two international guests: Maryllis Gonzalez (line producer) and Oliver Lupiañez (environmental sustainability manager).

Pitch me! 2023
The Portuguese Film Academy and Netflix announce the opening of the “Pitch Me! All In!” competition, a residency program aimed at emerging screenwriters, in which the selected authors will be able to work on the development of their ideas with the guidance of a team of high-level professionals.
“Pitch Me! – All In!” is an initiative developed by the Portuguese Film Academy and Netflix, with the aim of contributing to a greater representation of people belonging to underrepresented segments of the population in the areas of cinema and audiovisual, such as: people with ethnic/cultural diversity, sexual diversity, gender diversity, functional diversity, people from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds, among others.
The competition, which will be open for applications between July 31 and September 7, will end with the selection of 8 projects (with a minimum of 3 feature films and 3 series projects). The winning projects will be developed over several months through a residency and mentoring program, focusing on the creation of the script and its presentation dossier. The initiative will end with the presentation of the winning projects in a pitching session addressed to professionals representing the Portuguese film and audiovisual industry.

Portugal 360 – Session: “Portugal, a film friendly country”.
Three days of many activities, Portuguese cinema, talks about travel, culture, education, investment, gastronomy showcookings, handcraft workshops, wine and olive oil tasting, among many other activities that you can participate in with a simple registration on the website starting on May 9th. There are limited places.

The European Audiovisual Observatory invites all interested parties to participate in the conference “New trends and risks in the European cinema sector? A small/medium markets perspective “, which will take place at the Cinemateca Portuguesa on June 6, 2023, from 14.30 to 17.30. The event will be in English.

Marché du Film – Cannes Film Festival
The Marché du Film is one of the largest and most important events for film professionals.
Over 12,500 film industry professionals head to Cannes each year to present and discover almost 4,000 films and projects in development at 33 screening venues. Marché du Film takes place at the Palais Croisette in Cannes.
