1319. Isabel, the Holy Queen, is the wife of Dinis, the king, and mother of Afonso, the heir, both involved in a civil war. In such disorder and violence Maria Afonso, the king’s youngest bastard daughter, is raped and killed. The king asks Count Lopo to find Maria Afonso’s murderer.
