The new feature film by the director of Cantábrico takes us to the great, unknown and unique forest in the world: the Montado of the Iberian Peninsula. Holm oaks, cork oaks and oaks become a battlefield where large herbivores are challenged, majestic eagles hunt, Europe’s largest reptiles live with mongooses and vegetation hides predators with surprising camouflages. But it can also be a friendly place that welcomes thousands of long-distance travellers every year who find their home here during the winter. They seek for warm weather and for the Montado gold: the acorn. This is the bargaining chip that trees use for animals to preserve their existence.
