The Spanish city of Cuenca hosted this year’s edition of Conecta Fiction & Entertainment, held from 16 to 19 June. Now in its ninth edition, the market welcomed France and Canada as its guest countries.
After Portugal having been the focus country at the previous edition, the country returned to the spotlight in one of the event’s panel discussions, featuring Ana Marques, Executive Director of the Portugal Film Commission, and Victor Lamadrid, Secretary General of the Spain Film Commission. The conversation, moderated by Georg Szalai, Global Business Editor at The Hollywood Reporter, centred on production incentive schemes across Europe.
On 18 June, a showcase of the latest Portuguese television series was presented, followed by a networking cocktail hosted by the Portugal Film Commission, offering international professionals the chance to learn more about national production.
Out of 438 projects submitted to the market, five Portuguese productions were selected for the international pitching sessions, held at the José Luis Perales Auditorium Theatre and at the Hospedería del Seminario.
Conecta Fiction & Entertainment is an international market dedicated to the creation, development, production, financing, distribution, promotion and commercialisation of both scripted and unscripted television content.
