
Portugal Film Commission will take part of the 47th edition of CINANIMA – International Animated Film Festival of Espinho through a debate focused on the “Challenges of animation production” that takes place this Saturday, November 18, at 4:30 pm, in Centro Multimeios de Espinho – Sala Polivalente.
The session begins with a presentation on Creative Europe MEDIA funding opportunities, by Susana Costa Pereira, executive coordinator of Creative Europe Desk PT.
Aiming to discuss the challenges of animation production, the meeting will bring together Humberto Santana, producer at Animanostra, Nuno Beato, producer at Sardinha em Lata (both members of APPA – Portuguese Animation Producers Association), and Ana Marques, executive director of Portugal Film Commission.
The debate seeks to address the development of the animation sector in Portugal over recent years, as well as the landscape of training and education, co-productions, themes, and formats.
CINANIMA is the oldest film festival in Portugal. This year’s edition runs until November 19 highlighting different European cultural identities. One of the highlights of the program is the exhibition 100 years of Portuguese Animated Cinema, honoring a century of Portuguese animation history achieved in 2023.
