This year’s edition of “A Sunday in the Country” took place in Portugal between 5 and 8 April. Ten young filmmakers spent a weekend together in Évora, together with European Film Academy members Maria Schrader and Jan Schomburg, creating an exchange of ideas and inspirations between different generations.
The program comprised the screening and debate of each others’ films, cork forest bathing and dinner in the Historic Centre of Évora. A weekend full of full of sharing experiences, visions and open-minded inspiration, where the participants also had the opportunity to play padel and cook together.
Mónica Lima, Mário Macedo and Ary Zara were the Portuguese participants, along with Rokhaya Marieme Balde (Switzerland), Marja Bål Nango (Norway), Alba Cros (Spain), Brian Durnin (Ireland), Titas Laucius (Lithuania), Michael Middelkoop (The Netherlands) and Maja-Ajmia Yde Zellama (Belgium).
This edition of “A Sunday in the Country” was organized by the Portugal Film Commission, the Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual (ICA), and Visit Portugal together with the European Film Academy.
