Portugal was represented at the São Paulo Audiovisual Hub, held from 3 to 13 July at the Armando Álvares Penteado Foundation, in that Brazilian city. The event featured over 90 activities and a programme focused on strengthening the audiovisual industry and promoting international partnerships.
With the aim of fostering international dialogue and reinforcing ties between Portugal and Brazil, the Portugal Film Commission stood out through a workshop on funding opportunities for Brazilian audiovisual projects – with a particular focus on Portuguese-Brazilian co-productions – and through the active participation of its Executive Director, Ana Marques, in several debates and roundtables.
The workshop offered Brazilian professionals an opportunity to explore support mechanisms and demystify the processes involved in developing joint projects. Beyond financial aspects, the session also addressed the growing importance of sustainability in the audiovisual sector. Discussions centered on financing strategies that prioritize responsible production practices, highlighting how creativity, financial viability and positive environmental impact can go hand in hand — an area in which Portugal has been striving to establish a strong position.

The São Paulo Audiovisual Hub brought together over 200 professionals from Brazil and 25 other countries, including representatives from festivals such as Cannes, Berlin and Rotterdam, as well as platforms, sales agents, distributors, television networks, consultants, and public sector organizations.
The event was organized by the Secretariat for Culture, Economy and Creative Industries of the Government of the State of São Paulo, in partnership with the Associação Paulista dos Amigos da Arte (APAA), and supported by the Paulo Gustavo Law.
