From 13 to 15 April, Lisbon hosted StreamTV Europe, which brought together around 1,000 participants and 200 speakers at EPIC SANA Lisboa. This marked the first European edition of the StreamTV Show, an event for professionals in the streaming industry that takes place annually in the United States.
The Portugal Film Commission was an Industry Partner of this inaugural edition, with highlights including a panel on Portugal, its ability to attract international productions, and its growing role as a hub for projects focused on technology and innovation. The session featured a conversation between Ana Marques, Executive Director of the Portugal Film Commission, Susana Gato, Executive President of the Portuguese Association of Independent Producers (APIT), and Gil Azevedo, Executive Director of Unicorn Factory Lisboa.

The podcast “Filming in Portugal. See the Big Picture” was also part of the StreamTV Europe programme. Journalist Martin Dale and Tony Gonçalves, founder of The Evrose Group, led this live episode, which explored the role of production incentives as a driver of economic, cultural and social development.
Over the course of three days, the event focused on the future of streaming, discussing topics related to content, advertising, platforms and technology, while addressing the most pressing challenges and the strategies being implemented.
Following the success of this first edition, the organisers have already announced that StreamTV Europe will return to Portugal in 2027, from 20 to 22 April.
