In 2024, the Porto/Post/Doc festival once again hosted the Luso-Galician Forum – Creativity and Co-Production, held on Monday, 25th November. Approximately 85 professionals representing 24 Galician companies and 28 Portuguese companies participated in the event, part of the festival’s industry-focused programme.

Luis Chaby Vaz, Film Commissioner and President of the Portuguese Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual (ICA), and Ana Marques, Executive Director of the Portugal Film Commission, welcomed attendees to the forum at the Palácio das Artes in Porto.

The opening session also featured Dolores Meijomín, Audiovisual Policy Coordinator of Axencia Galega das Industrias Culturais (Xunta de Galicia), Fernando Ojea, Content Director at Televisión de Galicia, and José Fragoso, Programmes Director at RTP1. Later, José López Campos, Cultural Adviser for the Xunta de Galicia, and Jacobo Sutil Nesta, Director of the Galician Agency for Cultural Industries, joined the event.

Throughout the day, Portuguese and Galician participants engaged in one-on-one meetings to present their projects and explore co-production opportunities. Strengthening ties between the two regions and welcoming new players revitalising the sector were key objectives of the forum.

The Luso-Galician Forum – Creativity and Co-Production is organised by Porto/Post/Doc, in collaboration with the Portugal Film Commission and Axencia Galega das Industrias Culturais (Xunta de Galicia). The initiative is rooted in the Professional Co-Production Meetings between Portugal and Galicia, the last edition of which took place in 2019.
