In 2026, the first international session of the 27th EURODOC – International Lab for Creative Documentary Production took place in Portugal, from 1 to 7 March, in Porto. The workshop brought together around 45 participants from 32 countries, marking the beginning of an eight-month programme dedicated to the development of documentary projects.
This session focused on the creative and strategic development of the projects, encouraging collaborative work, group sessions, masterclasses, case studies and one-to-one consultations. The group included 13 Portuguese professionals who, over five days, had the opportunity to work intensively with Belgian producer Rosa Spaliviero, who acted as mentor to the local participants.

Throughout the week, the workshop also welcomed several guests, including Manuel Claro, Vice-President of the Portuguese Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual (ICA), Ana Marques, Executive Director of the Portugal Film Commission, and Susana Costa Pereira, Executive Coordinator of the Creative Europe Desk Portugal.
The session was organised by EURODOC in partnership with the Porto/Post/Doc: Film & Media Festival, with the support of ICA, the Portugal Film Commission, Turismo de Portugal and Turismo do Porto e Norte.
This edition of the international lab continues in Tallinn, Estonia, with a session taking place in June, and concludes in Strasbourg, France, in October.
