Portugal Film Commission attended Focus London 2025

The Portugal Film Commission took part in Focus London 2025, held on 8 and 9 December at the Business Design Centre in London. This year, the Portuguese presence was highlighted through a shared stand between the Portugal Film Commission and the Loulé Film Office, which also welcomed representatives from Filmaporto – Film Commission and the Centro de Portugal Film Commission.

Throughout the two-day market, the Portugal Film Commission met with professionals interested in learning more about the conditions the country offers as a filming and production destination. Production incentives, through Pic Portugal, and the diversity of available locations were among the main topics addressed in these meetings.

One of the key moments of the Portuguese participation was the presentation “Filming in Portugal – Great Locations, wonderful stories”, featured in the official Focus programme. On 9 December, Ana Marques, Executive Director of the Portugal Film Commission, presented the work carried out by the entity, highlighted the country’s competitive advantages and clarified questions regarding incentives and production support. The session was followed by a cocktail promoted by the Loulé Film Office, which provided an opportunity to extend networking and strengthen ties with international producers and partners.

Alongside the market programme, the Portugal Film Commission also attended several relevant events, including those organised by the EUFCN – European Film Commission Network. The network held a members’ meeting on 7 December at the art’otel London Hoxton, featuring a series of panels and sector-focused discussions. On 9 December, during the EUFCN networking cocktail, it was announced that Figueira da Foz is one of the finalists of the EUFCN Location Awards 2025.

The Portugal Film Commission’s agenda also included the AFCI – Association of Film Commissioners International and Amazon MGM Studios brunch, held on 10 December at BAFTA headquarters, bringing together film commissions and industry professionals from across the globe.
