The Portugal Film Commission is part of the Collective Efficiency Strategy of Historical Villages of Portugal 2030, which has sustainable development as its main axis. Ana Marques, executive director of the Portugal Film Commission, took part of the contract signing session, which took place at the Jewish Museum of the Historical Village of Belmonte, on the 8th February.
The objective is to ensure that the Historical Villages of Portugal have the capacity to host film and audiovisual productions, taking into account the uniqueness of these villages and the territories that surround them. To this end, the Portugal Film Commission will join the cultural and creative industries working group. The aim of this network is to promote the sustainable, inclusive and intelligent growth of these territories.
In addition to the Portugal Film Commission, the consortium brings together several public entities and the private sector. The consortium is part of PROVERE – Program for the Economic Valorization of Endogenous Resources.
The Historical Villages of Portugal association includes 12 villages located in the interior of Central Portugal: Almeida, Belmonte, Castelo Mendo, Castelo Novo, Castelo Rodrigo, Idanha-a-Velha, Linhares da Beira, Marialva, Monsanto, Piódão, Sortelha and Trancoso.
