In 2025, Doc’s Kingdom – International Seminar on Documentary Film celebrated its 25th anniversary under the theme “A Collective Disarticulated Harmony”. The edition took place from 14 to 19 November, bringing around 100 participants to the Alentejo region, between Odemira and São Luís.
Ana Marques, Executive Director of the Portugal Film Commission, took part in the seminar, presenting the work developed to promote the country as a leading destination for film and audiovisual productions, as well as the Pic Portugal production incentives. The presentation was held in São Luís, at Cultivamos Cultura, an association dedicated to contemporary art experimentation.

Curated by Raquel Schefer and Rita Morais, the programme featured film screenings, debates and activities related to documentary cinema, exploring historical and contemporary practices of collective filmmaking across different geopolitical contexts, “contributing to a reflection on the possibilities and conditions of collectivist cinema today”.
Organised by Apordoc – Associação pelo Documentário, Doc’s Kingdom has maintained the same structure since its first edition in 2000: over the course of a week, participants watch films by different filmmakers and discuss them together, fostering dialogue and collective reflection.
