The Portugal Film Commission once again collaborated with Doclisboa – International Film Festival, reinforcing its presence in this year’s edition through several initiatives within the festival’s industry programme.
Several film professionals participating in the Jumpgate programme joined a visit to the city of Lisbon, organised in partnership with Turismo de Lisboa, on Wednesday, 22 October. The morning included a visit to the Royal Treasure Museum, where Nuno Vale, the museum’s Executive Director, welcomed the group and shared insights about productions already filmed there and upcoming shoots. The itinerary then continued through Chiado and Terreiro do Paço with the group of international producers, mostly from the Benelux region – the focus of this edition.
In the afternoon, the programme featured a session dedicated to the Portugal Film Commission and the Pic Portugal incentive schemes. As part of Nebulae, participants also attended a cocktail hosted by the Portugal Film Commission at Cinema São Jorge – a networking moment that brought together national and international professionals.
Within the “Constellations” talk series, Ana Marques, Executive Director of the Portugal Film Commission, took part in the discussion “Sustainability Practices in Film Creation and Production”, held on 19 October at Culturgest. The session also featured Eva Vila Purti and Beli Martínez, and was moderated by José Manuel Martínez Sierra from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
The collaboration also extended to the Showcase of Portuguese Projects, which took place for the first time within the framework of Nebulae. Held on 20 October, the session presented four Portuguese projects in the “work in progress” stage, aiming to increase the visibility of Portuguese cinema in the international market and foster new opportunities for coproduction and distribution.
Doclisboa runs from 16 to 26 October across several venues in Lisbon. Organised by Apordoc – Portuguese Documentary Association, the festival continues to stand out as one of the main platforms for dialogue and reflection on contemporary documentary cinema.
