Conecta Magaluf-Mallorca took place on the island of Mallorca from 25 to 28 May, in an event that succeeds Conecta Fiction & Entertainment on the occasion of its 10th anniversary. Over the course of four days, the international market featured networking opportunities and training activities focused on the audiovisual sector.
Portugal and Spain were at the centre of a panel discussing public incentives in Europe and their role in attracting international productions, held on Wednesday, 26 May. On the occasion, Ana Marques, Executive Director of the Portugal Film Commission, presented the Portuguese case and the new Audiovisual and Film Industry Funding Programme – SCRI.PT.
The round table also featured Sophie Valais, Deputy Director of the Legal Information Department at the European Audiovisual Observatory, and Víctor Lamadrid, Secretary General of the Spain Film Commission.
Among the projects participating in this edition of Pitch Drama Series was Dark Hope, a musical drama co-produced by Portugal, Germany and Cape Verde.
The programme included around 40 activities dedicated to topics such as Artificial Intelligence, microdramas, new financing models and intellectual property. Conecta Magaluf-Mallorca is supported by the Ayuntamiento de Calvià, the Government of the Balearic Islands, the Consell de Mallorca and the Ayuntamiento de Mallorca.
