Portugal will host a local workshop of EURODOC – International Lab for Creative Documentary Production, a training initiative in the field of documentary filmmaking, taking place from 2 to 6 March in Porto. Participants will gain in-depth insight into European documentary production and explore various possibilities for partnership and coproduction.
The workshop will focus on the development of documentary projects and is aimed at industry professionals based in Portugal. Additionally, two places will be available for Brazilian producers. Applications must be submitted in English (which will also be the working language of the workshop) by 15 December.
One to two places will also be open to other industry professionals – such as fund managers or commissioning editors – who will take part as observers.
The group will be composed of 10 to 12 participants who, over five days, will work with a tutor on the development of their projects. Producers will also have access to masterclasses and case studies alongside participants of the annual EURODOC 2026 training programme.
Participation costs for the workshop will be covered by the session-hosting partners. Participants will only be responsible for travel expenses and 30% of accommodation and and subsistence (lunches, coffee breaks and dinners) costs, estimated at around 300 euros.
This local EURODOC workshop is organised through a partnership between the Portuguese Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual (ICA), Porto/Post/Doc: Film & Media Festival and EURODOC.
