The Portugal Film Commission participated in the 26th edition of Cartoon Movie, which took place between March 5 and 7 in Bordeaux, France, aiming to create new synergies within the animation industry.

The projects Dom Fradique and Rose and the Marmots, co-productions by Ocidental Films, as well as The Day Ewan McGregor Introduced Me to his Parents, co-produced by Sardinha em Lata, meant that Portugal was among the 55 projects selected for the pitching sessions of this edition.

Animanostra was nominated for the Producer of the Year Award of Cartoon Movie with They Shot the Piano Player, a Portuguese co-production that had the support of the Portuguese Cash Rebate. The winner ended up being Animagrad, the organization announced on March 7.

Cartoon Movie is a co-production and pitching event focusing on European animated feature films. Organized by CARTOON – European Association of Animation Film, this edition was attended by around 850 professionals from the sector.
