The Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union will organise, on May 11 and 12, the High Level Conference “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Journalism – Will AI take hold of the 4th estate?”, an initiative that intends to raise awareness of the adoption and impact of AI-based technologies on news production, distribution and consumption, and to promote reflection on the journalism of the future in the digital age.
The Minister of Culture, Graça Fonseca, The Secretary of State for Cinema, Audiovisual and Media, Nuno Artur Silva are to be present at this Conference, as well as high-level representatives of the news media sector, organisations representing journalists, journalism training centres, academia, government representatives and national and international authorities at this event, whose programme can be accessed here.
The Conference is to be held online, with free registration to a virtual platform, and open to anyone who registers until May 7th, at this link.
This event will be bilingual (Portuguese/English), with interpretation into Portuguese sign language and international sign language.
