Events

“Sustainability in Film and Audiovisual Productions” is the theme of the event that takes place on September 24, Sunday, at 2:15 pm, in Batalha Centro de Cinema, Porto. The gathering invites film and audiovisual professionals to reflect on the path towards more ecologically responsible productions and happens within the context of the National Sustainability Day, celebrated on September 25.

“What is sustainability? Why should we make more sustainable productions?” are the questions on the centre of the first part of the event.  Elle Bessa, Inês Rueff, Rita Lacerda and Pedro Sá, from Associação Green Consultants de Portugal, are going to introduce the concept and talk about the importance of taking sustainability to audiovisual and film productions.

Maryllis Gonzalez (line producer, Spain and United Kingdom) and Oliver Lupiañez (environmental sustainability manager, Spain) are the international guests that take part of the debate about the most important aspects of a production, measures, solutions and case studies. They join the event in this debate moderated by Dörte Schneider Garcia (Green Consultant and teacher) where they will share their experience when it comes to sustainability in film and audiovisual sector.

The event is free of charge, upon registration. The event “Sustainability in Film and Audiovisual Productions” is organized by Portugal Film Commission, Filmaporto – film commission and Associação Green Consultants de Portugal, with the support of Batalha Centro de Cinema.

Portugal celebrates, for the first time, the National Sustainability Day in 2023, with the goal of promoting a responsible change of behaviours, emphasizing the commitment to a sustainable future.
