Sustainability takes the spotlight in the return of the Portugal Film Commission podcast

Generic

Sustainability in film and audiovisual production sets the stage for the return of Filming in Portugal: See the Big Picture, the Portugal Film Commission’s industry podcast. Following a first season with ten episodes, the podcast is back, bringing journalist Martin Dale together with industry professionals to discuss current trends and challenges.

Dörte Schneider Garcia, President of Repensar – Portuguese Association of Green Consultants, and Andreia Nunes, producer and co-founder of Wonder Maria Films, are the guests of the first episode of this new season, which is now available.

Both green consultants emphasize that sustainability concerns should be integrated from the moment a project is written, reinforcing that “emission wise, every fraction of a ton counts”. This episode delves into the industry’s role in environmental preservation, as well as social sustainability and investment in local communities.

The upcoming episodes will feature a diverse lineup of industry professionals, including Tony Gonçalves, consultant and founder of The Evrose Group; Lori Balton, location scout; Joana Vicente, former CEO of the Sundance Institute; Rui Tendinha, film critic and host of Cinetendinha; and Teresa Vieira, film critic, journalist, and artistic director of BEAST IFF.

New episodes of Filming in Portugal: See the Big Picture will be released biweekly on the Portugal Film Commission website and across podcast platforms.
