Applications are now open for the Green Film Lab, a TorinoFilmLab initiative taking place in Portugal with the support of the Portugal Film Commission and the Portuguese Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual (ICA).
The programme is aimed at film and television professionals working in development, pre-production or production phases who wish to deepen their knowledge of sustainability, as well as environmental managers, professionals already engaged in green practices, and institutions interested in sustainable approaches to the sector.
The workshop will take place in Lisbon from 7 to 9 November 2025 and will be held entirely in English. Over the course of three days, participants will explore sustainable production practices based on the Green Film rating system — from drafting sustainability plans to certification processes.
Confirmed tutors include Giovanni Pompili, Head of Studies at Green Film Lab, Louise Marie Smith, founder and managing director of Neptune Sustainability, Dörte Schneider Garcia, President of Repensar – Portuguese Association of Green Consultants, and Lucie Trémolières, writer-director with a focus on emotional responses to the environmental crisis.
Applications are open until 12 September. Full guidelines and application forms are available on the TorinoFilmLab website.
The Portugal Film Commission and TorinoFilmLab will also host an online info session on 29 July at 11:00 (Lisbon time). Pre-registration is required via mail@portugalfilmcommission.com
