Productions supported by Pic Portugal honoured at the 2025 Sophia Awards

The 2025 Sophia Awards once again celebrated national cinema, with several productions supported by the Pic Portugal – Cash Rebate Incentive receiving distinctions in some of the most prestigious categories of the Portuguese Film Academy awards.

Sustainability in productions now covered by Ad Hoc Support

The regulation outlining the conditions for this financial support has been updated to cover the development of environmental sustainability plans carried out by specialised consultants. It also includes the hiring of auditing services aimed at obtaining green shooting certification or sustainability certification for other initiatives within the film and audiovisual sector.

Portugal Film Commission attended the Series Mania Forum

As part of the Series Mania Forum, the Portugal Film Commission hosted a networking event entitled Portugal – Meet the Producers. Distributors, executive producers, screenwriters and sales agents were among the international participants in this meeting.

Portugal Film Commission returns to the Málaga Festival Market

The Portugal Film Commission once again participated in MAFIZ – Málaga Festival Industry Zone, which took place from 17 to 21 March in Spain. Portugal had a stand in the industry section of the Málaga Festival, which welcomed around a thousand participants from 63 countries.

Elvas reflected on the region’s potential as a filming destination

"Filming in Alentejo and Elvas" was the theme of a discussion held at the Centro Artístico Elvense last Saturday, 22 March. The event explored the region’s potential as a filming destination and the importance of establishing a local film office.
